Ask The Adobe Ones - Episode 19

Posted by admin on July 24th, 2009 and filed under always something brilliant | 1 Comment »

From dates to French kissing — A viewer has trouble marking the calendar for the big date and Kush investigates. Mark your calendar for the “suprise” web event (yes its CS4) on Sep 23 (24 in Asia/Australia). Also mysterious spam gives new meaning to customer satisfaction.

    Transcript:

“So what is 09 23 08? No those are not my vital statistics, 09 23 08 or 23 09 08 if you live in a country where you write the month in the middle is the day something brilliant will happen. If you have subscribed to any Adobe mailing list that brings you regular updates about Adobe events, you might have got an e-mail with those magic numbers on it, or maybe you might have noticed it as a banner ad on Adobe.com. September 23rd year 2008 a date to remember because that’s when you can watch a world wide web event to find out what the Adobe ones have been up to lately. It’s supposed to be something very special. If you are into Adobe stuff I’m sure you are going to love it!

If you are in North america, you can choose to watch it either 9am Eastern time or 9am Pacific time. And if you are in Europe, its 11am CET for you guys and for those who are on the other side of the international date line its actually going to be on the 24th 4pm in australia 2pm in Singapore and hong kong or 11:30 am in india. And if you live on the international space station well you’d have to do some complicated calculations to figure out the right time but if you are up there I’m sure you are smart enough to figure it all out on your own. So regardless of where you live just pick a time that is convenient to you and convert it to your own time. You might want to refer to timeanddate.com if you need to translate your time zone to any of those listed here..

So go to this site and register to receive an e-mail notification. All you have to enter is your name and e-mail address no long forms to fill up and Adobe won’t use that information for anything else other than just notifying you about this event. Just like ask the Adobe ones, we won’t use your e-mail for anything else other than this program.

So don’t forget to mark your calendar. Speaking of which I got an e-mail from Martin Sassenberg saying he had trouble downloading the outlook appointment file generated on this site. Well Martin, I immediately contacted the Adobe ones who are handling that web page and they said they made the site more compatible so chances are it could work better now. If not you can always use the html version of the site by clicking the link on the top right corner or once you register you will get an e-mail with a link to download the same calendar entry file and if even that doesn’t work or if you just don’t use outlook to organize your life, just manually enter an appointment into what ever method you use to remember appointments, like your phone or pen and paper notebook or stick a note on your fridge, you know, what ever that works for you.

I hope you are excited about this as much as I am. And I don’t get excited about anything that easily unless its something really exciting.

So if you get an e-mail from Adobe with those magic numbers, don’t be alarmed, its real. Unlike this e-mail I got the other day - you know what, I should have a “spam of the week” segment on this program because I am so prone to spam after all. Somebody wrote me “French kisses.. you’ll never stop… we adore our clients…” Well we try to be nice to our clients too but I don’t think we french kiss our customers .. unless they start first. Who knows, maybe it’s normal in France.

Please don’t spam me other than the fact that it’s illegal its also a waste of global bandwidth. But please do send any relevant Adobe related questions simply by writing us an e-mail or sending a link to a web video question to ask@adobe.com so even you can ask the Adobe ones.

You know what, there are french people working for Adobe and I’m going to ask one of them if that e-mail makes any sense at all.”

Queen - Another One Bites The Dust (High Definition)

Posted by admin on July 3rd, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 25 Comments »

Queen-Another One Bites The Dust (High Definition)
    Lyrics Included:

Steve walks warily down the street,
With the brim pulled way down low
Ain’t no sound but the sound of his feet,
    Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, Are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
    Chorus

    Another one bites the dust
    Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
    Another one bites the dust
Hey, I’m gonna get you too
    Another one bites the dust

How do you think I’m going to get along,
    Without you, when you’re gone
You took me for everything that I had,
And kicked me out on my own

Are you happy, are you satisfied
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
    Chorus

    Another one bites the dust
    Another one bites the dust
    Another one bites the dust
    Another one bites the dust
There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
    You can beat him
    You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
    When he’s down
But I’m ready, yes I’m ready for you
I’m standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating the sound of the beat

Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving (Live UK 1997)

Posted by admin on June 29th, 2009 and filed under always something brilliant | 6 Comments »

TWM from TWM Era. One of the best Jamiroquai tunes to play live. Most of the live versions of this song are really long (10 to 16 minutes aprox.), so it’s very difficult to upload. Anyway, there is always something brilliant to show, enjoy!
