  • Am I a total loser or does the modern-day definition of success just elude me?

Posted by admin on March 10th, 2010 and filed under brilliant definition | 4 Comments »

So, in high school everyone praised me for having such a high GPA, getting into a great college, and playing baseball while also editing the yearbook and being in Honor Society. I had few real friends and kind of just blended in, coming home to mess around and study. I worked extremely hard on my writing, getting tutors to ensure A’s and high SAT scores, and I was a total detail-oriented person in every way, even diligently studying the Driver’s Ed book…and cropping photos for the yearbook like it was for National Geographic. I thought that as long as I did all those things then everything would be great in my life. Unfortunately, not the case…

Fast forward 2004 to now, I’ve had friendships start, end…I’ve been hated, loved, praised, mocked. I’ve done masterful work in college, I’ve also done lazy work in college. I’ve been so anxious to get a 4.0 at times that I took Xanax to dull the nervousness but since about a year ago I just feel like I want to graduate and get out of there and I don’t stress the classes or my grades that much, just care about passing as it’s my last semester.

I smoked almost 2 packs a day for half a year due to school/interpersonal anxiety. I quit that 1.5 years ago. I got into shape and dropped 50 pounds while cutting my body fat to about 12% and looking really ripped. I became disillusioned with the fact that it didn’t get a nice girlfriend so I put back some of the fat from before and it’s kind of like that time and effort was wasted at the gym. I tried to transform myself into a Pickup artist from reading ‘The Game’ to find strategies to get women at bars to like you. I became very outgoing with women and they responded, but again, it was either superficial banter at the bar or a superficial relationship that hurt me more than helped me.

I tried to find the Lord recently and bring myself to Jesus. I was saved (hopefully) and baptized at a Baptist church. I thought I would fit in there…but I didn’t, they taught all these rules on what I could and couldn’t do and I couldn’t understand their hatred of all things ‘normal’ as well as Catholics and things like that. After having found a haven in the Church and being an active member like 2 or 3 days week for several months, I ended up telling them goodbye and never looking back. I do love Jesus and have a cross tattoo on my arm that I absolutely love, but I guess I don’t love him as much as I should since I don’t pray, repent regularly, or even pick up my KJV Bible.

My best friend of 11 years basically cut all ties with me for no apparent reason. My other friend just graduated with a degree in Econ from a great school but he was just taken to a psych ER for having semi-delusional thoughts and anxiety…I feel bad for him, but he’ll be straight. My other friend is a 33 year old pick up artist who lives with his parents and always wants me to club with him to meet girls, yet he is very awkward but sort of good at getting laid. I’ve tried to become a Jersey-shore type character where I dress with a huge cross and all fancy clothes, girls tell me I’m cute but that makes me feel even worse cuz I’ve been told that for years but I haven’t had a relationship that has made me happy…just random, physically-satisfying sex that makes me feel miserable afterwards.

I go to a therapist and he’s the only person in my life who I trust wholeheartedly. He guides me in the right direction and understands that I’m at times brilliant. Most people think I’m a goofball…a lot of people think I’m highly intelligent, but perhaps somewhat silly. No one at school really knows me other than as a superficial character that I portray. I tend to open up to people too quickly, put myself out there and be a people pleaser, and also tend to idealize people and put them on a pedestal after not having known them that long, just because they “seem” nice.

Now, everywhere I go…bars, clubs, strippers, prostitutes, girls off Craigslist who want nothing but sex, I keep getting questioned as to where I work, why did I quit a cushy govt job where I couldve been making 70 thousand in 5 years, and where I work now. I tell them I’m just studying full time, directing student films. They ask me why I still live at home. Why I’m not applying to grad school or looking to make something of myself? What is my drive…am I gonna move out to L.A. to become a big-time filmmaker? I don’t have the answer to any of these questions.

I’m just existing…trying not to die, not to hurt people in any way other than my occasional rudeness which I’m working on…I want to feel good, avoid pain, have sex, be loved, make videos that touch people in some way, show people that I’m creative, prove to people that I’m smart who think I’m silly. What does it mean to be a success? When I had a job at SSA no one wanted me…now no one really wants me either who I consider relationship-worthy, but they taunt me with these questions as to what I’m doing with my life as if they

Actually, I think your problem is that the modern day definition of success DOESN’T elude you.

    Pity. Maybe it should.

Have you ever thought about the fact that you are actually asleep right now? I know you think you’re not because you compare this state (ordinary "consciousness") with the FIRST state, that state we call ’sleep’, in the ordinary meaning.

And then, after 8 hours, you wake up. But not really. You simply ascend into the second state of consciousness.

    The third state of consciousness is your BIRTHRIGHT. But you are so involved with "A" influence, you can’t get there. Very few people can. What persons in history have penetrated the third state of consciousness? Abraham Lincoln; Walt Whitman; William Shakespeare; Benjamin Franklin; Johann Goethe; Hans Christian Andersen; Lewis Carroll; Elizabeth the First;

"In the country of the blind, the man with one eye is king."

For persons who reach the fourth state of consciousness, their mind is raised to a level almost inconceivable. With those persons, their passing (like the wake of a ship) often creates RELIGIONS. Not that that was their aim. Their aim was to teach people to lift their consciousness into another realm.

And here YOU are, dicking around with THINGS. With idiotic pursuits as if they had any value whatsoever.

You’d better wake up brother. None of this shiit is free. You don’t know how many recurrences you have left. But you will always be re-living THIS life. The only one you know. Perhaps that seems rather tedious, metaphysically, to you. If you don’t start using the proper tools for waking up, making the correct efforts, getting help from some person, somewhere, who has already woken up, then you’re chances of escape are slim and none.

Pay attention to my sources. I’m not saying them for my health.

If life is "survival of the fittest", then are the gene-spreaders really the fittest?

Posted by admin on February 12th, 2010 and filed under brilliant definition | 5 Comments »

If the main purpose of life is ultimately procreation, then are the fittest in natural selection "fit", in the truest sense of the word?

In other words, many uneducated, unintelligent people spread their genes. Studies show that less educated people have, on average, more children.

If this is the case, then do we need to rework our definition of "fit" to mean something other than the smartest & healthiest? I know it is impossible to generalize, as many brilliant people also have tons of kids, but having lots of kids doesn’t necessarily correlate with intelligence, physical strength, etc.

Less educated people tend to have more children because of the lack of knowledge of birth control methods and the concept of family planning.

The prerequisites of survival and prosperity in urban life is extended to material wealth and family ties. If the parents are affluent, their offspring will naturally have more options at their disposition: a more conducive environment to grow up in, and more chances at a quality education which puts them ahead of the competition.

Hereby we can see that the children of accomplished parents will have better chances of survival and achieving success.

The weaker fox that manages to sneak in on the lone female while his two rivals are battling away can also have a chance at spreading his genes.

In a social environment, it is not always the most capable or talented that can get to the top rungs in the social ladder. Those with enough wit, enough resilience and enough ambition stand an equal chance of doing so.

In this sense, ‘fittest’ does not necessarily refer to mere physical attributes, but those who possess the ideal conditions.

what do you think the conclusion would be of their assumption for the definition of death?
life afterwords or beyond, eternal nothingness etc etc…

You don’t need great thinkers for that. We already have the answers.

Anyone who is intellectually honest knows death is when you cease to exist.

How can some Americans revile Liberalism when the polit/econ/social standards of the US are founded on it?

Posted by admin on December 17th, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 5 Comments »

Liberal philosophy gained momentum during the Age of Enlightenment, questioning and defying traditionally established constructs of kingly divine right, supremacy of the clergy, and government regardless of consent. Famous liberal thinkers like John Locke bootstrapped the fledgling philosophy with brilliant tracts that eventually made their way into the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America and ultimately into the zenith of the country’s legal framework, the Constitution. The economic side of liberalism is a promotion of laissez-faire capitalism, a fundamental component of the functioning market that thrives today in the United States.
Taking even the general definition of liberalism (" a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties"- Webster’s), does it not seem that opponents or general hostiles to the idea either are ignorant of its factual definition or are simply employing it as a facade to conservative bigotry?
And to the recent answers, the definition of liberalism I posted is current and the philosophical description is accurate. If you do not know the subject being discussed, do not answer this question because it simply makes you seem annoying and worthless. Thanks. (Oh, and if you do want to look up what liberalism is, just search some basic sites like dictionary.com or wikipedia.com before you start spouting garbage).
To the 3rd answer, I have a master’s in Political Science so I’m quite confident that I comprehend these principles to a greater clarity than you do. I am not combining any concepts; I made it expressly clear that I was referring to liberalism, not "liberals" or anything of that "general dimension." Take some time to purchase a dictionary so you can comprehend standard English. :) In the standard definition that follows from 18th century liberalism, liberals are the ones that are true to the foundations of this country. Conservatives are those who wish to make tradition an inescapable prison and maintain a status quo regardless of whether it is justified or whether it can be improved. Conservatives were against breaking tradition when the women’s suffrage movement sparked in the 1920s; conservatives were against civil liberties for minorities during the 1960s, all in the name of ‘conserving’ a tradition that benefited the few and oppressed the many. That is not democracy and that is not what the United States of America is; to say that a conservative today is of the same ideological ilk as the founding fathers, whether related by blood to them or not, is an offense against this nation tantamount to treason.

Because there are far to many people who just don’t know when to stop.

Thanks, Katie. I’m really amazed of your brilliant mind. Do you know more about natural gas? In our Science report, we need to know the definition of natural gas, how is it utilized, its advantages and disadvantages, and the developments of this source of energy. I’m sorry if I may be abusing your brain…

Do Jehovahs Witnesses expect that their "new definition" of the word generation will make it into the dictiona?

Posted by admin on November 25th, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 1 Comment »

    dictionary?

Apparently they are the only people in the whoile world who know what that mysterious word means. Mankind has been stumped for… GENERATIONS! on what it actually means.

Now the brilliant men in Brooklyn figured it out! Oh how wise these men are!

When the term “generation” is used with reference to the people living at a particular time, the exact length of that time cannot be stated, except that the time would fall within reasonable limits. These limits would be determined by the life span of the people of that time or of that population. The life span of the ten generations from Adam to Noah averaged more than 850 years each. (Ge 5:5-31; 9:29) But after Noah, man’s life span dropped off sharply. Abraham, for example, lived only 175 years. (Ge 25:7) Today, much as it was in the time of Moses, people living under favorable conditions may reach 70 or 80 years of age. Moses wrote: “In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; and if because of special mightiness they are eighty years, yet their insistence is on trouble and hurtful things; for it must quickly pass by, and away we fly.” (Ps 90:10) Some few may live longer, but Moses stated the general rule. Moses himself, who lived 120 years, was an exception, as were his brother Aaron (123 years), Joshua (110 years), and some others whose strength and vitality were unusual.—De 34:7; Nu 33:39; Jos 24:29

When Bible prophecy speaks of “this generation,” it is necessary to consider the context to determine what generation is meant. Jesus Christ, when denouncing the Jewish religious leaders, concluded by saying: “Truly I say to you, All these things will come upon this generation.”

History recounts that about 37 years later (in 70 C.E.) that contemporary generation personally experienced the destruction of Jerusalem, as foretold.—Mt 23:36.
Later that same day, Jesus again used practically the same words, saying: “Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.” (Mt 24:34) In this instance, Jesus was answering a question regarding the desolation of Jerusalem and its temple as well as regarding the sign of his presence and of the conclusion of the system of things. Before his reference to “this generation,” however, he had focused his remarks specifically on his “coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” and the nearness of the Kingdom of God. Immediately afterward, he continued with references to his “presence.” (Mt 24:30, 37, 39; Lu 21:27, 31) Jesus was using the word “generation” with reference to humans whose lives would in some way be associated with the foretold events.—Mt 24.

The people of this 20th-century generation living since 1914 have experienced these many terrifying events concurrently and in concentrated measure—international wars, great earthquakes, terrible pestilences, widespread famine, persecution of Christians, and other conditions that Jesus outlined in Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, and Luke chapter 21.

What should I do with this boy!?

Posted by admin on November 20th, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 1 Comment »

There is this boy I have had a *major* crush on since 3rd grade, when he first came to my school. He is perfect and comes from a perfect family! Blonde hair, blue eyes, not short not tall, but is supposed to grow a lot soon, and comes from a nice nice family. He is the funniest kid I know and my far the nicest. He is so sweet. The kind of boy you would think you would never have a chance with. I only have one class with him, but we sit by each other (a seating arrangement) I am going out with someone who is can be very bi polar. I went out with him for a year and then I broke up with him. About 6 months later, he asked me out again and I said yes. We have been dating for 2 months, but I think we worked better during the first time around. Back to the other boy: well he is just the guy who is athletic and brilliant and the definition of a pretty boy. The boy who every girl has had a crush on. And I think my feelings are coming back for him, but I am not sure. His father was talking to my mother about that he wanted him to ask me out. And I guess he was, but the boy I am currently going out with, got to me first. The perfect boy always looks at me and he makes my heart jump. The one I am going out with gives me goose bumps when he smiles. And I just don’t know what to do. Just a crush? Sorry this was long…
    Thanks so much!

    Was Adolf Hitler Disabled ?

Posted by admin on November 14th, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 3 Comments »

If the Definition of disabled is correct (A disabled person is someone who is less able) does this mean Hitler is blind. He was gas ed in WW1 but did he gain full eye sight back. If he didn’t does this mean he is disabled as he is less able then anyone else.

I appreciate this is quite a hard point to discuss and my wording isn’t brilliant but any help would be appreciated :D

Venus conjunct Uranus is Michael Jackson’s strongest natal aspect. Does this sound like Michael Jackson?

    Venus conjunt Uranus
    Natal Aspect Definition
By James Braha “How To Be A Great Astrologer” page 181-182

The person is artistically gifted. He excels in music, dance, drama, painting, photography or any other art form. His work is original, unique, and experimental. He stretches the boundaries of convention. The person has a keen, (actually, ultrasensitive) eye for beauty. He is intuitive, open-minded, and uninhibited. He is sexually exciting and enjoys breaking the rules. Bisexuality is possible. The person is powerfully drawn to Uranian types. He will have affairs with astrologers, mystics, spiritualists, geniuses, eccentrics, new agers, and other brilliant, unconventional individuals. The person is intensely strong-willed. He has little understanding of compromise and may be entirely unaware of his selfish, egocentric behavior. For his passionate affection and genuine caring, he is ultimately detached in love matters. Also, there may be a certain lack of intimacy because the person does not give his partners the kind of deep trust that longtime companions typically experience.

The person needs plenty of freedom and space in his relationships. If he is unaware of such needs, he may attract partners who are married, unstable, unpredictable, or otherwise incapable of commitment. He ensures his own freedom this way, but he also guarantees loneliness and suffering. The person is wiser to acknowledge his particular requirement – a marriage without constricting rules, regulations, and demands. The person may choose a spouse of a different race or religion. The spouse also may be much older or younger, or from a foreign country. A man with this aspect may marry late in life, or never; a woman with this aspect has a greater chance of marrying many times, whenever her fierce passion comes on too strong. The person experiences his love as a universal and unconditional phenomenon, and it is “nothing personal” should he decide to sever a relationship and begin a new one.

The person is social and popular; he is thrilled with life. He is sensual, high strung, and has a sparkling, effervescent quality. He enjoys flirting. The person loves astrology or any occult science. He is honest, direct, and optimistic. He is free with his money, and his wealth will fluctuate tremendously.
    This was written/published in 1992.

In addition to that description, he was a humanitarian. His romantic and public interests generated a lot of speculation and caused many turbulent circumstances, sudden issues and chaos into his life. Uranus is very erratic.

Edit: So you think Michael had a Taurus or Gemini ascendant, Left-T? Do you have a source? Astrotheme gives him a Libra ascendent, which would make Venus conjunct Uranus extremely significant as his chart ruler.

Unique, one of a kind, most popular animes?

Posted by admin on November 5th, 2009 and filed under brilliant definition | 7 Comments »

Definition: An anime that is sick, twisted, or weird. In other words, unique that allows it to “surpass” mainstream animes, such as One Piece or Bleach. It is unique in a way that allows it to carry on and distinguish itself from other animes. Popular examples are:

Elfen Lied – Everyone knows this anime. It’s a sick and twisted story about a destructive human mutant with telekinetic powers. It is on TV Asahi Top 100.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya – Not just your average high school romance anime, it is weird in a way that deals with reality and the “other world.” Hard to explain this one. #4 on TV Asahi Top 100.

Code Geass – Almost typical of a Mecha Anime, but has its own psychological and dark elements mixed together. It is on TV Asahi Top 100 and Most Viewed in Japan.

FLCL – Just weird and “never before seen.” It is on TV Asahi Top 100.

Death Note – Self explanatory. It is on TV Asahi Top 100.

When Cicadas Cry (Higurashi) – One of the most brilliant made mystery, horror animes ever created. The story is rather complex and hurts your head a lot. It is #61? On TV Asahi Top 100.

Ok, I guess all these animes are from TV Asahi Top list. My question is, are there any other unique, one of a kind, popular animes out there? Possibly from the Top 100 anime list? Or not?

When I think twisted anime that sets itself apart from others, of the more popular -

Neon Genesis Evangelion - One of the original seriously twisted mess with your mind animes.
    Xxxholic - Psychological Clamp creation
Paranoia Agent - Little Slugger & why are they all laughing?
Boogiepop Phantom - The jury is still out on what went on here.

Somewhat obscure, yet definitely worth checking out -

Petshop of Horrors - Like an anime version of Tales From the Crypt
Dead Leaves - Makes as much twisted sense as FLCL did.
