  • What do you think is one of the most brilliant movie scenes?

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2011 and filed under brilliant | 9 Comments »

For me it’s the scene in Se7en when John Doe first comes into the police station. He calls out "Detective… Detective… DETECTIIIIIIVE!!!" Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman whirl around and there is Kevin Spacey with his hands in the air, covered in blood, turning himself in.

In less than one minute, the ENTIRE game changed!

    A brilliant movie scene!

For me, it likely is the ending of "Planet of the Apes" (1968).

"Oh my God. I’m back. I’m home. All the time, it was… We finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"

It is difficult to explain how powerful it was to see this in the theater in 1968. Talk about being blown away~stunned~didn’t-see-that-coming! People were talking about that everywhere we went, and they still talk about it. Wow!

I used to be brilliant at singing, but i stopped, and now im crap, can i get better again?

Okay well im a guy, im 17 and i used to sing ALOT.
Last year up until around christmas i was singing all the time, and then for christmas i got a professional studio mic and guitar and stuff and start practising my singing and recording, and everyone said i sounded brilliant and thought i had the potential to become a famous singer.
But after christmas(last month) i stopped singing because this is a very busy year in school for me because its my final year and i have exams and stuff, and i started to sing the other day and i sounded TERRIBLE! I couldnt even sing as high as i used to! I was so embarrassed and discouraged, and now im afraid ill never be as good as i was, or even get better than i was, anyone know whats happening? am i out of practise or something? do i just need to practise all the time? someone please help because i really wanna be a professional singer.

Everyone has good days and bad days, so I wouldn’t worry about it. But, you’re right…singing is like learning a musical instrument and it will always require practice to stay at the same level or improve.

Since you have some way to record yourself, what you might want to try is recording a lead vocal, and then recording additional tracks where you try to harmonize with yourself. (This might require a rthythm guitar part or something to help accompany your vocals.)

Take a basic C chord…only 3 notes…C, E and G. If the lead vocal is singing a C, then you should learn how to hear and harmonize the notes E and G along with the C note. this will go a long way to getting better and improving your ear.

Best of luck, don’t lose hope or your dreams.

Which of the three quotes do you like the best?

    Is the customer always right?

Do you believe that the customer is always right? Do you believe that its fair to blame the sales assistants if there is a problem with an item that you have bought and how would you react if they refuse to do what you want because they are following the company policy. Do you think its fair to reduce a worker to tears because you cant get what you want?
As someone who works in retail, im wondering your opinions on these things. Today i found myself in tears because of a customer who felt it was ok to shout at me because she had to wait to be served. I also watch a man shout at one of my colleagues because she was following company policy’s, which left her in tears and unable to face going back onto tills. When did it become acceptable to make a complete stranger cry because your not getting what you want? Are we not people too? Do we not have feelings?
All company’s have rules, regardless of whether its retail or not, so surely everyone who has ever worked must understand that by not following company policy she could potentially lose her job.
Now as somebody who spends a lot of my free time shopping i can also see it from the other side. Yes its annoying when you have to que to be served but unfortunately its one of those things, you either wait or you leave. By complaining not only do you waste more of your time you also holding up everybody else who it queueing. I also know how frustrating it is when you buy something only to get it home and find its faulty. However how many shops actually produce the items themselves? Most shops get stock from a supplier and so many times the fault is something that occurred before the item even arrived in store. How many shops have chance to check every item of stock is in perfect condition. Yes it would be brilliant if every thing you bought was in perfect condition but in reality there are never going to be.

I think Sometimes we need to remember that Shop workers are people too and actually people make mistakes and they have feelings. Shop workers are told to smile and be polite to every customer that walks through the door but when did people stop treating shop workers with the same respect?

The customer always thinks he/she’s right. So not true.

A brillant movie that made you cry?
