  • HEY! Are there any briliant women or men that can help me get extra credit! Im a 7th grader who needs help!!I?

    I CANT DO IT. HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE YESTERDAY!!!! use parentheses to solve this 3 x 5 - 3 + 2+ 8 x 2 - 6 / 4 ^2=6

Concentrate on the ^2, because that will have the most significant impact on the value of the expression being raised to the second power:

First I tried just raising the 4 to the second power. 4^2 = 16, so "n" / 16 = 6, therefore n = 96. If you can group the other numbers to reach 96, you have an answer. But working that out for a while got me nowhere, so I started working leftwards to bring the next number and operator into the square:

    (6/4)^2 = 2.25

That is not an integer so it probably won’t work.

Even bringing the next number and operator in, which is 2 -, I still end up with a non-integer:
    2 - (6/4)^2 = -0.25

But look — the next number and operator are "8 x " so lets work that out:

    8 x (2 - (6/4)^2) = 8 x (2 - 2.25) = 8 x (-0.25) = -2

so that might work if we can come up with a number which works out for ___ + (- 2) = 6

    What plus -2 is =6? It is 8 of course. Now we just need to group 3 x 5 - 3 + 2 to equal 8:

    (3 x (5-3)) + 2
    (3 x (2)) + 2
    (3 x 2) + 2
    6 + 2
    8

    Aha! We have it.

    So then, or grouping is:
    (3 x (5-3)) + 2 + (8 x (2 - ((6 / 4) ^2))) = 6

Technically some of those parenthesis are extras because the order of operations says multiplications and divisions are always done first, you don’t need to explicitly show that they are (but it helps keep things clear). So this would be a simpler form:
    3 x (5 - 3) + 2 + 8 x (2 - (6 / 4) ^2) = 6

But anyway, putting it back in the more complex form and proving it true works like this:
    (3 x (5-3)) + 2 + (8 x (2 - ((6 / 4) ^2))) = 6
    (3 x (5-3)) + 2 + (8 x (2 - ((6 / 4) ^2))) = 6
    (3 x ( 2 )) + 2 + (8 x (2 - (( 1.5 ) ^2))) = 6
    (3 x 2 ) + 2 + (8 x (2 - ( 2.25 ))) = 6
    (3 x 2 ) + 2 + (8 x ( -0.25 )) = 6
    (6) + 2 + ( -2) = 6
    6 + 2 - 2 = 6
    6 = 6 <<<<< TRUE!

Here is another grouping that also works out:
    3 x (5-3) + 2 + 8 x ((2 - 6) / 4^2) = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 + 8 x (-4 / 16) = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 + 8 x (-0.25) = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 - 2 = 6
    6 + 2 - 2 = 6

and another, this one involves only integers in the proof so might be more what you are looking for:
    3 x (5-3) + 2 + (8 x (2 - 6)) / 4^2 = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 + (8 x (-4)) / 16 = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 + (-32) / 16 = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 + (-2) = 6
    3 x 2 + 2 - 2 = 6
    6 + 2 - 2 = 6
    6 = 6

What does this quote mean? "A brilliant epigram is a solemn platitude gone to a masquerade ball"?

    What does this quote mean?
I’m throughly confused, can someone with a higher intellect please explain?
"a brilliant epigram is a solemn platitude gone to a masquerade ball what doe it mean?"

Well…a solemn platitude is basically a profound statement of some sort, but since–in the case of an epigram–it is used to express a truism about a work of fiction, then this could have two meanings.
    1. That a brilliant epigram is really only a truism to the made-up world of the novel or story. or
    2. That the solemn platitude is being taken out of context of its original meaning (aka in disguise) in order to become a brilliant epigram.

Something along those lines, although I’m sure others might have their own interpretations due to the ambiguity of the language.

    Advanced photoshop post-production techniques?

Posted by admin on December 13th, 2010 and filed under brilliant definition | 1 Comment »

Is there any technique for photoshop or to obtain pictures like these?
I am talking about the post production: light and colours are particular, warm and brilliant at the same time, and with high definition of details. I am quite an expert with photoshop, but I couldn’t find a way to post produce pictures like this, because really I can’t understand exactly what is that makes the picture so particular.

What good moisturisers are there that are okay for acne?

Posted by admin on December 7th, 2010 and filed under always something brilliant | 2 Comments »

I cycle to school in the bitter cold so as you can imagine my face can get really dry, I also use facial products that tend to dry out my face so I always use a moisturiser. At the moment I use this Body Shop Seaweed one or something… but it isn’t brilliant for moisturising my face.

What good moisturisers are there that help my acne or at least won’t aggravate it? Preferably from the UK…

I had severe acne on my face. But then I use is Clinical Super Serum and the condition soon improved. The best thing about the serum is that it also fades post-acne marks and scars on the face. I’m still using it and the spots on my face are gradually fading away.

The worst thing about acne is the scars and the marks it leaves behind. Some of the scars tend to disappear with time but some are so grave that it can be disfiguring which may make our heart sink.

The post acne marks is the hyper pigmented or red marks and is called as the post inflammatory marks. These marks take at least 6-12 months to completely disappear. When these marks last longer than a year then it turns into a scar. A number of things could be done to reduce the redness and to quicken its pace to disappear. There are also a number of home remedies available. Following are some of them.

Are there doctors/ significantly brilliant individuals who fail to conform?

Posted by admin on December 5th, 2010 and filed under brilliant | 2 Comments »

Like, brilliant people who become doctors and do research, but do abnormal things, such as smoke weed, express darkly to the public, support something that is radical? I am just wondering if there are any who are well known rocker-type individuals, or something like that.

Linus Pauling is both brilliant and as unconventional a possible. His odd choices have even rankled established scientists, who found Pauling encroaching on their field, far enough to call Pauling a quack.

Pauling was a physicist who realized the next great field of endeavor was the complexity of life. His entry into the study of biology was considered by some to be the start of molecular biology and biotechnology as a distinct field. He is one of the few to take two Nobel prizes and both were unshared.

Rupert Sheldrake is a cell biologist who publicly courts the odder fringes of parapsychology with research into telepathy. He believes the mind is an emergent property of the biological construct but the final consciousness extends beyond into morphic fields able to impact the developing egg & fetus. He believes the maternal influence is more than just proteins and preset genetic expression during embryogenesis.
